Early game comp creation is about making the best of what you have, and hedging your bets for RNG.
Hero Level 1-160
You want to make an early game comp with one carry and 4 supports/tanks. Generally the best 1-160 carries are:
- Wukong (Obtained from the “Share” event, viable from 1-100),
- Legendary Tier Heroes Mirael and Saveus, and
- Ascended tier hero Daimon.
Many other heroes are viable as carries during the 1-160 stage, don’t be afraid to experiment.
For supports/tanks, want to make use of heroes with crowd control (stun, banish, sleep) capabilities, and a second frontline hero who can tank :
- Legendary tier heroes such as Arden and Hogan
- Any ascended tier Tank and Support heroes on your wishlist. See the “What Heroes to Summon as a Beginner” guide for wishlist guidance. Notably, Brutus is a great tank because of his invulnerability shield at level 141.
Wukong will carry you until level 100. Level him up with 4 other Legendary-Tier heroes and reset him once you’re there. Throw some Ascended-Tier heroes into your crystal to play with them if you want. Your goal is to make 5 Legendary-Tier heroes to L+ and getting them all to level 160. Wait on ascending Ascended-Tier heroes until you have more copies and are capped with the 5 fodder at 160. Once again, level and steadily ascend your 5 fodder heroes. You can put A tier heroes on your crystal to use them, but don’t level them manually because they will get level capped since they will be less ascended than your L+ fodder.
For your damage, Wukong followed by Mirael will basically be your main damage dealer. Hogan is sometimes recommended as a tank, however, you want to use all your fodder to ascend only one hero per faction, and Mirael takes priority over Hogan. In terms of other useful heroes, Silvina is an interesting distraction if you would like to choose her as your Graveborn fodder to ascend. We recommend Niru because this will help your Daimon be stronger with Library Union bonuses, and Daimon is the main transition from early to mid-game, which we will explain later.
See the below recommendations for how to manage your team’s levels and ascensions and make the best use of the resonating crystal.
Useful Resonating Crystal Heroes

Brutus - He’s like your time-limited true tank. When he drops to 1 hp, instead of dying, he’ll be invincible for a limited amount of time. This can give your team the stall it needs to get your carries and supports up and rolling.

Nara - Always a great pick, you see people saying you don’t need to ascend her early as a GB priority because she can do her job just fine at E/E+ ascension. She hooks the enemy across her position and starts CCing them. Fantastic to interrupt the start of fight abilities like an Eironn pull or a Safiya trying to get her pyramid set up. Also is a great way to disable an enemy carry or mage while letting your team focus on the rest of the enemies.

Fawkes - One of the staple “banishers” in the game. He boxes up one of the enemies and lets your team fight a 5v4, a strong advantage. His ultimate, if you can get it off, cleanses buffs and shields, so if you have a pesky Brutus or Lucius on the enemy, pop the bubbles with him. Fawkes’ banishing ability is very comparable with Tasi, as they both target enemies with the highest attack rating (ATK). However, there are two major differences between the two. Fawkes’ coffin lasts for 7 seconds by default (9 seconds with skill ups), whereas Tasi’s banishment only lasts for 4 seconds by default (6 seconds with skill upgrades). This means that in the early game, Fawkes is a more effective single target banisher than Tasi is, with a lock-out time of almost twice as long. (However, Fawkes’ coffin does damage, whereas Tasi’s banishment does not. Though this might initially seem like a positive, in practice, it is actually a weakness. The reason is that CC abilities that also deal damage are classified as soft CC, which means that they can be dodged and blocked out with shields. That is to say, if you have a Lucius ult or Nemora over-heal shield up, Fawkes’ coffin would have no effect on your heroes. Tasi’s banishment on the other hand is classified as hard CC, which means that they cannot be dodged or blocked out with a shield. Further, Tasi’s banish also steals 40% of the banished enemy’s ATK, which when applied to a large power deficit results in considerable damage output from Tasi.)
Rowan - Just one of the best heroes and healers in the game. His cart stays on the field even if he dies. If he gets his ultimate off, he gives your team energy and stuns enemies.
Tasi - Another staple banisher. She makes an enemy go poof for a bit at the start. Her ultimate if you can get it off is one of the best, putting every enemy to sleep. She can avoid damage reasonably well too with her teleportation.
Lyca - Does a respectable amount of damage, but really great for utility even if not invested into. She tends to just die before she does real damage though. Her real job is to give your team haste and energy at the start, letting your carries get to do their job faster is always great. Her attacks also debuff the enemy which lets your other carries do more damage.

Rosaline - Especially good with mage carries like Mirael. Essentially buffs who she’s following, which will be your carry. If she lives long enough, your carry gets to use their ultimate twice, which is fight winning. She has strong damage in her kit too with a little stun here and there. Very respectable support.

Daimon - He’s your boi. If you don’t have copies to ascend him, he still steals the enemy’s HP with his HP cuts.

Thoran - Another reasonable tank, has just good stats. His abilities can help you kill some pesky enemies here and there as well. His ultimate can win fights.

Pippa - Offers a good variety of CC and enemy movement with her portals, acorns, and her ultimate. Still a squishy hero, but sometimes her stuns and portals can be clutch.

Oden - Part 2 of the portal party; draining energy and dropping enemies onto each other. Does strong damage early on as well, but also a very squishy hero. Good to throw in for that early CC.

Talene - One of the most popular celestials. If you’re lucky enough to have one, she’s a great healer. She takes damage and heals your teammates. She revives herself. In the Labyrinth, she never truly dies since her HP never is 0 at the end of a fight as she’s constantly healing while not alive. She doesn’t do damage until she’s maxed out, so she’s a healer for all your intensive purposes.

Alna - The celestial winter Brutus. She makes everything slower, buying your team some time. She gets to be immune multiple times in the fight if it goes on. Very strong, respectable damage. However, it is important to note that Alna also decreases the haste of your own heroes. As a result, she could also be an anti-synergy for certain energy funnel comps, as she slows down the energy funnelling process. Likewise, she could also disrupt cc-chains (the haste debuff spreading the cc across a longer time frame), which may be detrimental to your team’s survival. Thus, she should not be treated simply as a better Brutus, but rather a similar invincibility tank with her own pros and cons and used according to your needs.

Athalia - The celestial Nara. She goes in and dives the enemy opposite of her, doing a CC chain very similar to Nara. She can’t be interrupted while doing this, so if you have her give her a shot here and there.

Mehira - She whips your team, giving them haste. She has a very potent ultimate, charming essentially the whole enemy team depending on its placement. She also has 3 lives, so very good survival especially early on. In addition, she’s a hypogean, which means your team gets a defense bonus from you just putting her on your team, quite good especially at this point in the game.
Hero Level 161-240
From 161-240 your comp switches over to end-game carries and supports as legendary tier heroes cap out on levels. You’re clearing the last few chapters of single fights and preparing your heroes for multi set fights.
Key carries to watch out for include:
- GBs: Daimon, Izold, and Oden
- Wilders: Raku and Eironn
- Maulers: Kren
Notably, agility carries do better after you unlock T1 and T2 gear due to the added dodge, which is where their survivability comes from. Mages and Strength heroes perform better before you have T2 gear.
Supports start trending towards end game heroes and perform certain support roles categorized as:
- Portals- including Pippa, Tasi, and Oden
- Energy Funnel - including Raine, Rowan, and Rosa
- Pull - including Skriath and Eironn
- Save - including Hendrick and Silas
