There are many teams you can use in the late game. Each one requires different heroes and can accomplish different things. Starting at chapter 31, boss stages have more than 1 battle, so working towards multiple late game teams is important for progression. Keep in mind that these teams are not ordered, each team performs better against certain enemies, so having variety is more important than building the “strongest” team. In the following teams heroes have suggested investment requirements, some can be used without investment but aren’t as effective.

Daimon

Daimon teams focus on stalling, giving Daimon enough time to kill all the enemies with his ultimate. Daimon teams are great at killing tankier enemies and are generally useful because of their few bad matchups. However Daimon struggles to kill enemies with a lot of healing and enemies that crowd control him fast such as Fereal.

Heroes

Stalling can be done by tanks but more commonly is done by supports with crowd control. Supports that give energy to Daimon can also be effective. Daimon works at +20, but his +30 helps him greatly if you don’t have energy supports in your team.

Example Comps

5-Pull

There are a few different types of 5-pull teams but what they have in common is using Skriath and Eironn to pull 5 heroes. From there you can either crowd control enemies, try to burst them, or a combination of the two. Variants that use control can work against tankier enemies, but are susceptible to heroes immune to control abilities while variants that rely on damage can’t always handle the tankier enemies.

Heroes

Aside from the core heroes, 5-pull uses damage heroes, control heroes, and utility heroes. Generally you will focus on either additional damage or control while utility heroes can go in either build.

 Example Comps

Traditional 5 pull is a hybrid between damage and control that works great at lower deficits but starts to fall apart as enemies gain more stats. Queen 5 pull and Lucretia 5 pull work much better at high deficits. Queen focuses on control while Lucretia focuses on damage. Additionally Lucretia 5 pull works differently due to Lucretia’s mechanics, see the Lucretia section.

Portals

Portals, or Portal Party, is a team that groups the enemy heroes using the portal abilities of Oden and Pippa and then uses control to prevent them from attacking. Portal Party is very strong once the enemies are grouped, but the comp falls apart against enemies that kill your heroes before grouping or are immune to control abilities.

Heroes

In addition to the core heroes, Portals uses control heroes to lockdown enemies as well as utility heroes that have a range of effects from grouping enemies faster to stopping your heroes from dying before enemies are grouped.

Example Comps

Traditional Portals stacks enemies and controls them, not much to say. Portal Pull uses Eironn to instantly stack all 5 enemies making the comp startup much faster, almost completely removing one of the weaknesses of Portals. Immunity Portal sacrifices Pippa’s ability to stack 2 enemies and instead uses her to give immunity to the ally in front of her.

Izold

Izold teams rely on enabling Izold to 1v5 enemies by activating his signature item and furniture abilities to tank all 5 enemies and output enough damage to kill them. Izold has high passive healing and gains damage reduction after an enemy (or enemy summon) dies when his ultimate is active. His attack rating and attack speed are increased the more damage he takes. Izold is strongest when he can easily activate his damage reduction by killing enemy summons.

Heroes

The supports for Izold generally fit in two categories. Controllers that stop the enemy from running over Izold before he’s ready to 1v5 and enablers that help Izold survive and get his damage reduction stacks faster.

Example Comps

Raku

Raku is able to output some of the highest burst damage in the game. He marks targets that are under crowd control effects and then attacks all marked targets dealing bonus damage. Combined with his % HP damage he can wipe out enemy teams incredibly fast. However he is quite squishy and is weak at finishing off enemies because his damage is a percent of the enemies current health.

Heroes

The large majority of Raku’s supports are controllers that both proc his mark on enemies and stop the enemies from killing your team, but he does use a few utility characters. Notably Ezio can execute enemies compensating for Raku’s weak finishing abilities.

Example Comps

Kren

Kren is a hero that can almost single handedly win the battle once he uses his ultimate. He launches AoE explosives that stunlock and do high damage to enemies. His ultimate also pushes enemies towards the enemy side, grouping them all up to take AoE damage. Kren does have a few weaknesses, one of which is his squishiness and tendency to run into enemies and die. Liberal use of the barricade artifact and crowd control can help mitigate this though.

Heroes

Kren’s ultimate is his win condition, so his supports look to either funnel energy into him or help him survive longer, giving him more time to gather energy.

Example Comps

Thoran

Thoran teams, better known as Thoran Cheese, focuses on making all 5 enemies attack into Thoran’s ultimate ability so that he reflects the damage and kills all 5 enemies in a single blow. Thoran is widely regarded as one of the best teams for pushing high deficits because he can theoretically win no matter how much stronger the enemies are. He also has the added benefits of not using heroes that are high in demand. Despite his strengths, Thoran also has a few weaknesses. For example, Ezizh can interrupt his ultimate and Rowan and Thoran cannot be cheesed.

Heroes

Most of Thoran’s supports reposition the enemies or use some other method to allow Thoran to hit all 5 enemies such as Lorsan’s link. However there are also heroes that help Thoran get the energy to use his ultimate and heroes with utility such as finishing a tainted target.

Example Comps

Lucretia

Lucretia is another hero that can 1v5 enemies. Her signature item massively increases her damage when her allies die to the point where she can kill all 5 enemies in just a few seconds. Unlike Izold who tanks enemies until he can kill them, Lucretia is quite squishy and uses pure burst damage to win. Lucretia can take on most enemies, but she struggles against mages that she can’t dodge or enemies too tanky to burst before she dies.

Heroes

The nature of Lucretia’s signature items means most heroes used with her provide some benefit then die such as Eironn who groups enemies for Lucretia’s AoE damage. The exception is Brutus, one of the best heroes to use with Lucretia, who not only absorbs damage that would kill her but also can equip barricade to shield her, largely mitigating Lucretia’s survivability problem.

Example Comps

Because a large portion of Lucretia’s damage is AoE 5-pull can be combined with Lucretia to create one of the strongest comps in the game. Other Lucretia comps are usable but weaker.

Alna Grezhul

This comp takes advantage of Alna’s ability to immune the frontline by placing Grezhul alongside her. Grezhul is able to start the battle without dieing, letting him become very tanky and output an incredible amount of damage by scaling with enemy stats. Alna Grez does well against almost all enemies and can take on incredibly difficult stages. One of it’s few weaknesses are enemies that dive multiple backline allies bypassing Alna’s protection.

Heroes

The backline of Alna Grez usually consists of heroes that can add some additional damage to finish off enemies and control to make up for the gaps in Alna’s immunity.

Example Comps

There’s not not a ton of variety in Alna Grez comps, mainly just some supplemental damage such as Daimon or Oden and control such as Fereal and Oden.

Charm

Charm, also known as Charmizard, is a team based around enhancing and cycling Mehira ultimates so that the enemy team is charmed near 100% of the time. Because Charm teams rely on control over stats, it can theoretically push very high deficits and in practice is one of the best comps for high deficit pushing. However like most control based comps, it’s weak against enemies immune to control abilities.

Heroes

Charm core consists of Rowan, Zolrath, Rosaline, Mehira and Khazard. In this Rowan and Zolrath enable Mehira to ult almost instantly, Khazard increases charm duration by 30%, and Rosaline following Mehira causes her to ult much more often. There are variations of the team such as substituting Zolrath with Lyca or Rosaline for a damage dealer such as Raku.

Example Comps

Ainz

Ainz teams utilize the power of Albedo’s signature item to buff all dimensionals within the team depending on the number of dimensionals up to a maximum of 3. With the boosted stats, Arthur can tank until Ainz deals enough damage to the enemies to kill them. Ainz teams tend to do better against slower enemies and they struggle against burst damage that can kill Arthur and get to Ainz.

Heroes

Ainz core consists of Ainz, Albedo and Arthur which maximizes Albedo’s signature item. Occasionally Arthur can be replaced by Ezio, or Ezio could be used additionally. The last two spots can flex to many different heroes, most of which are control oriented.
