Hey Commander, it’s your friend Fred Kendall here. I’m extra-excited this week to tell you all about the long-awaited Version 5.0.
In this version, we’ll be introducing the [Prototype] system, which will allow you to promote your 7.2-Star Units into all-new Modern Units, some of which will have new gameplay mechanics. The highly-anticipated Helicopter Units can also be acquired through this Prototype system. In addition, we have added the ability to intelligently Quick Assemble, Quick Upgrade, and Quick Modify Units. We hope that these features make upgrading your Units easier.
Now, onto the details of Version 5.0:
I. New [Prototype] System
1. Once a server has been up for at least 180 days, all Commanders on the server will gain access to the Prototype system.
2. The Prototype system is designed to promote your 7.2-Star Units. It is divided into two phases: 7.2 to 8 Stars and 8 to 9.2 Stars:
- 7.2 to 8 Stars: During this stage, you only need Prototype Pieces to complete the Unit’s Prototype. After this stage is complete, the Unit will be promoted to 8 Stars. 8 Stars and above Units are called “Modern Units”. After becoming Modern Units, your Units may become a new Unit type.
- 8 to 9.2 Stars: To promote Modern Units, all parts of a Unit’s Prototype must be fully enhanced. You will need EXP, Ammo, Components, and Refined Components to enhance the Prototype.
- Due to the power of 9-9.2 Star Units, they can only be acquired on servers that have been open for at least 300 days.
3. Modern Unit Types
By promoting your Units into Modern Units (8 Stars and above), you will unlock new Unit types and combat mechanics.
- Rocket Launchers: Modern Rocket Launchers deal a small amount of AoE damage to all enemies within 1 Map Grid of their target.
- Light Tanks: Modern Light Tanks can attack both Ground Force and Air Force Units.
- Super Heavy Tanks: Modern Super Heavy Tanks are even larger than before. Their on-map model will only contain a single unit.
- Tank Hunters: Upon being upgraded to Modern Units, Tank Hunters will become Helicopters, new Ground Force Units that are capable of crossing over any terrain and other Ground Force Troops.
- Medium and Heavy Tanks: Medium and Heavy Tanks will become Main Battle Tanks after being promoted to Modern Units.
4. To acquire the Prototype Pieces and Refined Components required by Prototypes:
- Prototype Pieces: You can use Universal Coupons or Camp Coupons at the [Assembly Workshop] to conduct [Prototype Research]. Prototype research provides guaranteed Prototype Pieces.
- Refined Components: You can find Refined Components and Air Force Refined Components in the VIP Store. They can also be acquired by purchasing the “Modern Conqueror I” and “Modern Conqueror II” Gifts. In addition, Refined Components have been added to Theater of Conquest mission rewards. Refined Components will be added to daily events in a later version.
5. Part Conversion
After Modern Units have been enabled on your server, you will also be able to convert Parts.
Once Modern Units have been enabled, Parts for Modern Units will be displayed in the Parts Workshop. Modern Unit Parts can be converted from Legacy Unit (i.e. non-Modern Units) Parts. By doing so, you will lose your Legacy Parts. You do not need any other resources for conversion other than the Legacy Parts.
6. Migration Restrictions for Modern Units/Modern Unit Parts
If you migrate to a server that is not at least 180 days old, you will lose access to Modern Units.
All Modern Units you own will be reset to 7.2 Stars, and all resources spent to upgrade them past 7.2 Stars will be refunded.
Your Modern Unit Parts will also be converted to Legacy Unit Parts.
Your Prototype Pieces and Refined Components will not be lost, and can be used once the server has been up for 180 days.
You can now disassemble 7-7.2 Star Units with the new Advanced Unit Disassembly tab in the Disassembly Plant. As with standard disassembly, you will lose your Units after disassembling them.
II. [Quick Assemble] Units
1. This feature is unlocked at VIP 7.
2. With this feature, you can select a Unit and a Star Level you would like to promote them to.
3. The system will automatically generate a list of Units required to promote your Unit to the target Star Level, based on other parameters you can adjust.
4. After confirmation, the system will automatically promote your Unit to the target Star Level by consuming the listed Units.
5. Missions and Manual content unlocked in the process of quick assembly will be automatically resolved.
III. New [Quick Upgrade] and [Quick Modify] Features
1. Upon reaching VIP 7 you will unlock the ability to quick upgrade your Units. When you tap the upgrade button, the quick upgrade button will appear. You can use quick upgrade to instantly upgrade your Units to their max possible level.
2. At VIP 8, after unlocking the Unit modification mechanic, you will unlock the quick modify feature. Tapping the quick modify button will automatically upgrade all Unit modification nodes to their max level.
IV. [Base Shield] Alliance Skill
1. The last Alliance Tech in the Military Tech tree will be replaced by the Base Shield Tech. Like other Alliance Skills, researching this Tech will unlock the Base Shield Alliance Skill.
2. Base Shield Effects: After using the Skill, all Alliance members within Alliance territory that is not currently under construction (including invalid territory) will gain a Base Shield for a period of time capable of absorbing a large amount of damage. The Durability of the Base Shield will recover quickly when out of combat.
V. New Player [Base Protection] Optimization
1. Roles created in a City that has been open for less than 48 hours will gain Base Protection for 48 hours.
2. The criteria for losing Base Protection has been changed from joining an Alliance to: attacking another Commander’s Base or Troops, creating or joining an Army Group, attacking another Alliance’s Village or Strategic Place, etc.
3. You will now unlock Airlifts and the ability to turn your Base into a Command Truck when you join an Alliance for the first time.
VI. [Starter Pass] Optimization
In order to prevent Commanders from using Starter Passes to attack Commanders on new servers using Units not available in the new server, we have adjusted the rules for Starter Passes.
When entering a new server, you will be issued a Starter Pass based on the opening time of the new server:
1. If a server has been open for A days and A < 5, you will be issued a Starter Pass valid for A to 5 days.
2. If a server has been open for more than 5 days, no new Starter Pass will be issued.
VII. [Migrate Command] Optimization
1. Migrate Commands have been added to VIP 12 and VIP 15 of the VIP Store and can now be purchased.
VIII. New [Territory] Alliance Techs
1. Alliance members can now gain Firepower, Damage, and Dmg Resist buffs when fighting within their own Alliance’s territory.
2. Among the [Territory] Techs is the new “The Motherland Calls” Skill, which when used greatly reduces the burn speed of your Villages.
IX. [Fortified Wall] Optimization
In order to enhance the defensive capability of Bases, we have improved the stats of Fortified Wall upgrades, and added Base Dmg Resist bonuses vs Bombers:
1. Fortified Walls will now gain extra Dmg Resist vs Bombers at levels 1/5/10.
2. Fortified Walls will gain bonus Dmg Resist when upgraded.
3. The Durability of all Fortified Wall levels has been increased.
If you have already upgraded your Fortified Wall, these upgrades will be applied retroactively after the update.
X. [Secret Ops Chapter 2] Now Out
1. The 2nd chapter of Secret Ops is now available via the Ops Center, with a total of 30 new levels.
2. Two new Assault Rifles have been added to Covert Ops.
XI. Further Optimizations
1. The maximum number of on-map rewards you can hold in your mailbox has been increased to 100.
2. Optimized the programming logic of the chat system.
3. Optimized Troop shields. Now, after a Troop acquires a shield, a shield bar will appear to show the shield’s remaining durability. Some Unit types will have the shield bar appear under the individual Units rather than under the entire Troop.
4. Optimized the Grit effect from Polar Phantom’s Skills. The number of current Grit stacks will now be displayed under the icon for Polar Phantom’s Troop.
5. Troops trained after using the Troop Expansion item will not count towards your All-Time Power (but will still count towards your current Power).
6. In order to make Anti-Tank Guns more relevant on the battlefield, we have increased their Max Pen, improving their chances of Penetrating the armor of Super Heavy Tanks.
7. Optimized application performance, and resolved a number of lag and crash issues.
