Hey Commanders, it's your friend Fred Kendall here. Today I'll be telling you about the next major update: Version 6.0.

With this update, we'll be adding the long-awaited [Cairo Theater of Conquest]. In the unique desert terrain, you'll be able to use the Cairo-specific resource "Desert Oil" to engage your foes in all new ways.

In addition, we've increased the frequency of free draws in the [Percy's Showroom] event to once every 48 hours. Now, let's break down the contents of this new update in detail:

I. New Theater of Conquest: [Cairo]

The all-new Cairo Conquest is now open. During the 39-day Campaign Phase, you'll be able to utilize the new Cairo-specific resource "Desert Oil" to combat your enemies in new ways.

1. New Cairo Map: With its fertile floodplains bounded by arid deserts, the terrain of this beautiful, ancient city is unlike any you've faced before in Warpath. New strategic terrain, like passes and canyons, will have you reaching deep into your bag of tricks to survive.

2. New Resource - Desert Oil: Exclusive to the Cairo map, Desert Oil can be used to research new Conquest Techs, build powerful new map buildings, and grant your Coalition's Troops an edge in combat. Desert Oil can be acquired by completing missions for the new "Oasis Town" Villages or through Desert Oil Refineries, a new type of Base building. When the Conquest ends, every 10,000 Desert Oil will be converted into 5000 other resources of your choice, so don't be afraid to accrue as much of it as you can.

3. New Coalition Structure: In Cairo, Alliances will spawn in one of two starting areas in each of the four cardinal directions. You and the other Alliance in your cardinal direction will be paired together as a Coalition. Benefits from captured Strategic Places and special Villages will be shared between Coalition members, so how you coordinate with your partners will be the difference between victory and defeat.

4. New Map Buildings: You can now construct powerful new defensive structures on the map, which will transform the battlefield and require new strategies to overcome.

  1) Roadblocks: Roadblocks on the map will drastically slow down enemy Troops passing through them.

  2) Scorpion Cannons: These cannons deal devastating single-target damage at long range, and increase the damage received by their targets.

  3) Antlion Launchers: These rocket launchers spent most of their time underground, protected from enemy bombardment. If an enemy approaches, however, they'll pop out of the ground to deal massive AoE damage.

  4) Locust Shields: These powerful anti-air batteries bathe enemy aircraft in a nightmarish swarm of rockets.

5. Unique Conquest Techs: In the Cairo battlefield, there will be new Conquest Techs that will increase the power of your map buildings and the combat capabilities of your forces. Conquest Techs will have their own Tech tree, so you can research them without it impacting your regular Tech research. Please note that these Conquest Techs will only affect the Cairo Conquest and will be reset at the end of the Conquest.

6. New Special Villages: The Cairo map will introduce a series of new Village types, each with their own special effects upon being captured.

 1) Oasis Towns: After capturing an Oasis Town, you can accept and complete missions issued by the Oasis Town. Completing "Oasis Town Missions" will grant you Desert Oil and increase your Prestige with that Oasis Town. Increasing your Prestige with an Oasis Town will grant your Troops unique buffs while fighting within the Oasis Town's territory.

 2) Hidden Camps: Capturing a Hidden Camp allows your Coalition's members to purchase items from it, including many powerful buffs. Please note that after capturing a Hidden Camp, you'll need to wait until it restocks (once per day) before you can purchase anything from it.

 3) Airstrips: Starting 2 days after you capture an Airstrip, you will be able to upgrade a portion of your daily Airdrops into Mega Airdrops, which contain far more rewards than standard Airdrops. The more Airstrips you capture, the more Mega Airdrops you can call in.

 4) Ancient Temples: Every Ancient Temple captured grants your Troops a fixed combat buff. Please note that if you capture multiple Temples that provide the same type of buff (i.e. both increase Troop Firepower), you will only receive the effects of the higher-value buff (i.e. if one Temple provides +6% to Firepower and the other +2%, you will only get +6%).

7. New Base Building - Desert Oil Refinery: Upon entering the Cairo battlefield, you will be able to construct the new Desert Oil Refinery building in your Base. Like other resource buildings, these Refineries will provide you with a steady income of Desert Oil. Desert Oil Refineries will be lost at the end of the Conquest, but don't worry: you'll be refunded all the resources you spent building/upgrading them.

II. New Officers

1. [Argent Flame] Steven Hammer, Artillery Officer. Skill Preview:

 1) Synergy Strike (Tactical Skill): Prep Time: 8s. Fires an artillery shell at an enemy target (Dmg Coefficient 600/750/900/1150/1500). If serving as Troop Leader, increases the Skill Dmg of his Aide by 10%/13%/16%/20%/25%.

 2) Dug In: Increases the Dmg Resist of this Officer's Troop by 6%/9%/12%/15%/20%.

 3) Rope a Dope: Increases the Dmg of this Officer's Troop by 10%/15%/20%/25%/35% while Garrisoned.

 4) Firepower Doctrine: Increases the Firepower of this Officer's Artillery by 13%/18%/24%/30%/40%.

 5) Devastation (Awakening Skill): Prep Time: 8s. Fires an artillery shell at an enemy target (Dmg Coefficient 1500). If leading an Artillery Troop, this Skill also damages up to 3 enemy Ground Force Troops within 1 Grid of the target (Dmg Coefficient 700, 20% less for each additional Troop). If serving as Troop Leader, increases the Skill Dmg of his Aide by 25%.

How to Recruit:

1) [Argent Flame] will be available on Servers that have existed for at least 300 days.

2) Upgrade any Vanguard Division Unit to Lvl 80 to acquire [Argent Flame].

 

2. [Thorn Countess] Sofia de Moretti, Tank Officer. Skill Preview:

 1) Bella Donna (Tactical Skill): Prep Time: 8s. This Officer's Troop gains a Shield (Shield Coefficient 600/750/900/1200/1500) that also increases the Firepower of their Troop and all allied Ground Force Troops within a 1 Grid radius by 3%/4%/5%/6%/8%. Lasts for 4s.

 2) Armed to the Teeth: Increases the Dmg of this Officer's Troop by 6%/9%/12%/15%/20%.

 3) One Way or Another: Reduces the Dmg this Officer's Troop receives from Officer Skills by 13%/16%/19%/23%/30%.

 4) Blue Blood: Increases the HP of this Officer's Tanks and Helicopters by 13%/18%/24%/30%/40%.

 5) Beauty Worth Preserving (Awakening Skill): When this Officer's Troop is garrisoned in a Base, any Shield the Troop has is increased by 15% and can be used by the Base. The Base also receives 10% less Dmg from normal attacks.

How to Recruit:

 1) Upgrade any Fortified Wall to Lvl 5 to acquire [Thorn Countess].

 

3. [Lady Justice] Veronica Brown, Ground Force Officer. Skill Preview:

 1) Justice is Served (Tactical Skill): Prep Time: 8s. Blasts an enemy Troop with her shotgun, dealing Dmg (Dmg Coefficient 600/750/900/1150/1500) and reducing the target's Speed by 50% for 4s. 

 2) Home on the Range: Increases the Firepower of this Officer's Troop by 10%/14%/18%/24%/30%. Increases Firepower by an additional 5% while in Alliance territory.

 3) Deadeye: This Officer's Troop has a 4%/6%/8%/11%/15% chance of landing a Critical Strike when it attacks, dealing an additional 50% Dmg.

 4) Crimebuster: Increases the Dmg Resist of this Officer's Troop by 6%/9%/12%/16%/20%.

 5) Guardian Angel (Awakening Skill): Blasts an enemy Troop with her shotgun, dealing Dmg (Dmg Coefficient 1500) and reducing the target's Speed by 50% for 6s. Also increases her Troop's Dmg and Speed by 15% for 6s.

How to Recruit:

 1) Destroy 10 Lvl 6 or above Raven Bunkers to acquire [Lady Justice].

III. UI Optimization

We've made a number of adjustments to the UI:

1. In Landscape Mode, the Mission and Chapter Mission interfaces have been changed from a separate page to a pop-over, which should make it feel less disjointed with the rest of the interface and easier to open/close.

2. Fixed some inconsistencies in text color.

3. Optimized the performance of the Elite Commander, Covert Masons, and Investment interfaces.

IV. [Football Fever] Events

1. Top Squad: Assemble a Top Squad and win rewards! Use the new Football event items to fill in each position on the pitch (Strikers, Midfielders, and Defenders) to earn rewards. You can also use new "Play Cards", each with their own special effects, to make assembling your squad easier.

2. Who's the Champ: Use in-game tokens to predict who will win each game of the World Cup!

3. Opening Ceremony: Complete missions to claim rewards. New missions unlocked every day for 5 days.

V. Combat Optimization

1. Increased the total Armor Penetration bonus of Light Tank Prototypes from 22.1 to 36.1.

2. Rocket Launcher balancing: increased the base Firepower of 8, 8.1, 8.2, and 9-Star Rocket Launchers. Also reduced their splash damage ratio so they deal more damage to a single enemy.

3. Reduced the time required for Helicopters to take off and land, allowing them to get into combat quicker and move faster.

4. Improved the combat performance of AA Firebases when auto-attacking Bombers.

5. Added a setting to the Options menu that allows you to manually turn Lite Mode on or off.

VI. New [Ops Center] Content

1. Added two new types of guns, shotguns and the Barrett sniper rifle.

2. Chapter 3 and 4 have been added to the Ops Center.

VII. Further Optimizations

1. Fixed a number of incorrect stat bonuses for Skins.

2. Increased the reward for capturing an Arms Factory from a random 5-Star Unit Piece to a Universal 5-Star Piece.

3. Alliances in a Coalition can now dissolve Peace Treaties with other Coalition members.

4. Increased the time limit for forming Army Groups to 30 minutes, increasing the likelihood of successfully forming an Army Group.

5. Trying to move a Troop to an impassable Map Grid will now show all the surrounding impassable Map Grids.

6. Fixed Steel Fighter's Awakening Skill [Impenetrable] incorrectly reducing damage dealt to your Base by Bombers.

7. Adjusted some Unit visuals to be more accurate.

8. Percy's Showroom now grants you a free draw every 48 hours.

9. Adjusted the contents of the Covert Masons Pact. Added a new privilege: Firepower +5% for all Troops. Also added a new daily reward, Universal Material x5. Refunds will be adjusted accordingly, and we will be sending compensation to Commanders who are currently in the middle of a Covert Masons Pact.
